Major League Baseball will be celebrating the All-Star break in one week. That doesn’t mean you can’t start celebrating it now. We’re talking jerseys, people.

Granted, we usually don’t suggest that people wear replica jerseys and faux uniforms as a fashion statement. However, as a regular statement they are generally acceptable. Still, you probably shouldn’t wear them to the office. They’re much more appropriate to wear to the game, bar, or other sports-related event. Luckily we go to a lot of games, bars and sports-related events. Mostly bars.

Dress of the Day: Plenty by Tracy Reese Linen Strapless Dress

Dress of the Day: Plenty by Tracy Reese Linen Strapless Dress.Dresses and Skirts,Dresses and Skirts, Tops, Under the Radar

Tracy Reese is known for femininity, with super-sweet dresses and lady-like lacy skirts. This dress, however, is a little bit of a departure from the frilly frills with a more aggressive color in bright sunny yellow, and a somewhat vintage-inspired plaid pattern. The Linen Strapless dress is made of of a silk/cotton blend fabric (natural fiber perfect for keeping cool in summer!) and features a wide waistband with a sharp contrasting pattern. More than anything, though, the dress has pockets, and you know how much we love the utility of a good set of pockets.

The dress would be perfect with a pair of patent leather Mary Janes.

Available from Revolve Clothing for $290.

Priestess NYC, women’s wear with just enough edge

Priestess NYC, women\'s wear with just enough edge.Dresses and Skirts, Tops, Under the Radar,

Edge is an important element of fashion design. But if there’s too much edge, garments comes off as immature. Not enough edge, and what’s the point?

Cody Ross, 30, designer and founder of Priestess NYC, takes avant grade as a departure point to craft wearable and stylish separates. During a recent visit to Ross’ West Village work studio, he showed off s/s ‘08, his third season of dresses, tops and bottoms for women, aged 16 to 36.

He obviously enjoys kitsch and punk. But, Ross has the restraint of taste to not push those influences too far.

We love us some good funny. We also love a creative t-shirt. Put the two together and you’re singing our song, or at least humming it.

The folks at Goodie Two Sleeves know the tune, and they are pretty good at carrying it.
