Generally, the main plan of mainly acoustic tiles is to get better sound superiority and block noise transmission within a room or concert hall. But Turkey’s Altera Design Studio has a dissimilar take on the building material. Acoustic tiles feel that the normally drab tiles can also be made as stylish and good-looking as they are functional. And that is what motivated the designers to come up with Acustica, a line of good-looking acoustic tiles that also feature included lighting to add life to any place.

Rest in an egg-chair

dd_egg3_071807.jpg

Does your boss give those questioning looks whenever you go out for a walk? Do you work sitting on that rather boring desk the entire day? Are you not tired of sitting straight the whole day? Isn’t it rather too stressful to stay fixed to the non-movable chair? Do you ever think that you need some time to enjoy the nature?
Here goes a statutory warning for those who keep glued to the system and work late hours in the office. Your body needs some extra care perhaps…you better buy this egg chair or suffer! Boy that was some daring act!
dd_egg2_071807.jpg
A novel take on contemporary art; check out this relaxing chair shaped like the half-broken eggshell. This would be the chair that I would any day come back home and relax. The chair hit the popularity chart in the year 1950.
This apart, simply be seated in this chair and enjoy the cool spring breeze listening to the music of Bob Dylan. Do I need to say more?

Wall lighting for the new home

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008 | Home Accessories, Life style with No Comments »

jasonmiller_sconce.jpg
Its been an age-old tradition that when any festive occasion is on anvil, the lady of the house goes on a shopping spree with the spirit of getting every possible decorating item to lift the jovial atmosphere at home.
When it comes to revamping the house, I am sure that nobody gives a second thought to how much they are shelling out. My mom loves to keep changing the interiors, every alternate week. Boy, how hard I have tried dissuading her from her expeditions, but with much ado about nothing.
So, I finally gave up and tried getting into her shoes and oh la la…I just love it today. This new near I have got one novel piece for all the interior freaks. This one is Jason Miller’s ‘Antler Wall Scone’. The twig like light is just perfect for your bedroom. It gives the ambience an arty feel and is sure to bring out the poet in you. The wall lighting is beautifully made in glazed ceramic. Priced at: $277.50

If shaking hands is what disturbs you, then this Hand-le Doorknob is a perfect designer accessory to offer you regular practice over it, thereby helping you do away with your fear. Designed by Naomi Thellier de Poncheville, its warm gesture indicates the respect for the expected visitor, acquaintance, relative, friend or even a stranger.
