Lucy Sykes sundresses for girls

Lucy Sykes sundresses for girls., Designers, Dresses and Skirts, Kids and Babies

At some point this summer, there will be a family reunion, wedding or christening. If the good news is that kids are invited, but the bad news is the idea of an itchy, stiff dress turning your little princess into a monster, then check out Lucy Sykes New York, and all the pretty Designer dresses.

Beautiful prints, lightweight cotton, and, for a special party dress, fairly reasonable prices — certainly under $100. It’s not Target, but it’s also not Dior. The dresses have a classic shape, with twirly skirts and enough ruffles to be festive without looking like a square dancing costume. They are also refreshingly free of glitter or other Bratz-like flair.

Sykes and her doubtlessly beautiful family — including sons Titus and Heathcliff — spend weekends in the Hamptons and jet around the world to Paris, Milan and London. Lucy tries to infuse her dresses with the spirit of these places. We’re not sure if she succeeds, but we can definitely imagine them on some little girls we know, playing tag while the grown ups sip celebratory cocktails. Now that’s a summer party.

Most of us have things about our bodies we’d like to change you know, the grass is always greener anywhere but here, right? One of the important things to keep in mind when we’re figuring out how to best disguise our least favorite body part is that there are other body parts that we do like, and so instead of just disguising, we want to look at how to draw attention elsewhere.

If your problem is a short torso, chances are that you have fairly long legs. While you don’t want to wear teeny-tiny shorts around all the time to show off how long they are, keep them in mind while you shop, and don’t be afraid to flaunt what you have. However, we have a few tips to help you keep your body looking proportional check out what we have to say in the gallery!

This is indeed great news for all the people who love fashionable designer stuff. You people have the opportunity to take home elite designer apparels as well as accessories at a grand auction. The very well known Christie’s house of auction is going to hold a multi-owner vintage couture sale. This sale would be the first of its kinds. The auction will take place in New York on the 2nd of July. So, try to be free of your appointments on that day to grab the golden prospect. The auction will be a place to witnees the products by the big shots of the fashion world such as Gianni Versace, Balenciaga , Christian Lacroix, Thierry Mugler, and Mainbocher.

What is special about the auction is that it would pay a tribute to the extremely talented and renowned French couturier Yves Saint Laurent who recently passed away. the event would include the display and auction of apparels and jewelry designed by Yves Saint Laurent in every decade of his life. Such a display will show the progress of the dexterous fashion designer.

Laura Leyfer, the couture specialist at Christie’s, remarks that these products are in good condition and are affordable in their prices. Just look at the YSL designed Christian Dior dress from Fall/Winter in 1958. the approximate price of this piece is $1,000-1,500 only while this cut-out floral necklace designed by Saint Laurent for Spring/Summer 1990 would be available roughly for $1,000-1,500.

Flatter Your Figure: Summer Dresses for Busty Girls.Dresses and Skirts, Flatter Your Figure

Summer poses several obstacles for busty girls, with the main obstacle being the bra issue. With all the strapless, spaghetti strap, and halter options out there, ladies with a large chest can find it frustrating to find a summer dress they love with a neckline that allows them to have the proper support. Let’s face it strapless bras just aren’t for everyone.

Never fear there are plenty of sweet, summery dresses out there that are completely flattering for you. We want to accentuate your curves, but we don’t want the bust and the cleavage to be all anyone sees. Click through the gallery for some tips on what will work best for you!

Dress of the Day: Rory Beca Virginia Dress

Dress of the Day: Rory Beca Virginia Dress.Dress of the Day, Dresses and Skirts

We’re doing a second Dress of the Day today, partially because our motivation melted in the late-June heat yesterday, and partially because we couldn’t wait until tomorrow to gawk at this silk handkerchief masquerading as a mini dress. The Virginia Silk Mini Dress by designer Rory Beca is a little wrap style dress, and by “little,” we mean “extremely super tiny,” that is held closed in the front with a snap button at the crossover V neckline and a solid sash belt that ties.

Apparently, there is an elastic waistband that would be helpful for those of us who might need a little bit of give around the waist, but really, if that were the case, we shouldn’t be wearing a dress that falls a mere 17″ from the natural waistline. The dress features side slash pockets which we assume is only for show. If you put anything in those pockets, they’d drag the dress right off your body.

Available from Saks Fifth Avenue for $322.

Dress of the Day: Plenty by Tracy Reese Linen Strapless Dress

Dress of the Day: Plenty by Tracy Reese Linen Strapless Dress.Dresses and Skirts,Dresses and Skirts, Tops, Under the Radar

Tracy Reese is known for femininity, with super-sweet dresses and lady-like lacy skirts. This dress, however, is a little bit of a departure from the frilly frills with a more aggressive color in bright sunny yellow, and a somewhat vintage-inspired plaid pattern. The Linen Strapless dress is made of of a silk/cotton blend fabric (natural fiber perfect for keeping cool in summer!) and features a wide waistband with a sharp contrasting pattern. More than anything, though, the dress has pockets, and you know how much we love the utility of a good set of pockets.

The dress would be perfect with a pair of patent leather Mary Janes.

Available from Revolve Clothing for $290.

Priestess NYC, women’s wear with just enough edge

Priestess NYC, women\'s wear with just enough edge.Dresses and Skirts, Tops, Under the Radar,

Edge is an important element of fashion design. But if there’s too much edge, garments comes off as immature. Not enough edge, and what’s the point?

Cody Ross, 30, designer and founder of Priestess NYC, takes avant grade as a departure point to craft wearable and stylish separates. During a recent visit to Ross’ West Village work studio, he showed off s/s ‘08, his third season of dresses, tops and bottoms for women, aged 16 to 36.

He obviously enjoys kitsch and punk. But, Ross has the restraint of taste to not push those influences too far.

Dress of the Day: T-Bags Print Tube Dress

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 | Designer dresses, Fashion with No Comments »

Dress of the Day: T-Bags Print Tube Dress.Dress of the Day, Dresses and Skirts, dress, dresses, fllor length, long dress, maxi dress, t-bags

We have a confession to make.

Ever since investing all of $40 on a cheap jersey maxi dress a few weeks ago, we have been unable to give our attention to anything else. Yes, we are obsessed with the maxi dress.

Of course, the Print Tube dress by T-bags is nowhere near a mere $40, but the brick and blue multi-print rayon dress is worth the $218 price. The dress has ruching and an overly at the bust and falls 51″ to the floor, perfect for a pair of thongs on a tall girl, or platform wedge sandals on those of us who are not quite so tall. Because the dress is strapless, it can work for evening, too.
