Philippines celebrates in ‘Black and White’

Philippines

The grand occasion of the 150th Independence anniversary of the beautiful nation on the 12th of June reminded me of the gala event of the splendid 2008 Philippine Fashion Week. Distinguished guests and elite fashion personalities attended the magnificent occasion of glamour. It is worth appreciation to see how far the nation has come in its way towards progress. The pleasing consequences of this change can also be clearly witnessed in the fashion and style of the nation.

The 2008 Philippine Fashion Week has marked a new history for the ever developing nation. The immensely skilled fashion designers have shown their virtuosity in this field of art.  But, the true representative of the real history of Philippines is the work done by Raoul Ramirez. the amalgam of black and white outfits created by the designer display the periods of pain and of pride that the country has gone through. The creativity of the fashion artist lies not in rhetoric but in making the marvellous silhouettes that ’say it all’. This is a great tribute, indeed!
