Whitney turns into a colorful planet with ‘Summer of Love’

'Summer of Love' 

“Phantasy Landscape Visiona II by Verner Panton, a 1970/2000 wood, foam rubber and woolen fabric work measures 314 15/16 x 236 1/4 x 94 1/2 inches (800 x 600 x 240 centimeters).

The landscape will be on view during the exhibit “Summer of Love: Art of the Psychedelic Era” at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York through Sept. 16, 2007. The work is from the collection of the Vitra Design Museum and is copyright Panton Design, Basel.

Date and Timings: Through Sept. 16. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays-Thursdays; 1-9 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays

Venue: Whitney Museum of American Art, 945 Madison Ave. at 75th Street, New York

Cost: $12; $9.50 students and seniors; pay what you wish 6-9 p.m. Fridays.
