True, there are various watch makers piled up (amazon.com, eBay) in the unforgiving competition of Internet domain offering the elite and perfect-match for your wrist.

Marc Jacobs Collection of Handbags
By admin | April 19, 2007

Do women need reason to spend lavishly to meet elite standards? And if it has an affirmative reply, then I would rather love to stay in a denial mode as designers’ collection is enticing them to clutch it. And when the talks are about bags, then excuse me but no second thought is entertained.
This Venetia Bag with a patchwork from Marc Jacobs Collection is a product that attracts eyeballs. Designed in luminous metallic leather with stitched patchwork pattern, this bag is brogue in polished golden brass hardware with an attached chain (detachable), made up of chunky brass link.
Sized at 15″ x 9.5″ x 4″, the bag retails at $1475

Koolhaas’s masterpiece: ‘Making minced meat of memory’
By admin | April 11, 2007

Pic: Central Chinese Television (CCTV) Headquarters, designed by Rem Koolhaas & Ole Scheeren; engineered by Ove Arup
According to Rem Koolhaas, history of architecture has 2 memorable events in its history: Samson tearing down the house of the Philistines in 1100 BC and the destruction of the World Trade Center in 2001 AD. But his design in 2006 AD of the CCTV Headquarters in Beijing is a perfect candidate to be added in that countdown. This limited view is no manifesto.
The entry of this cookie carving the most monument in China is simple yet strange. Masses believe that great architecture is made on a napkin, the source of inspiration being anything except hard work. (According to Paul Goldberger, the design of Koolhaas’s Seattle Public Library can be traced to a single diagram.)
The very thought one of the world’s leading architects would exalt “making minced meat of memory” is beyond imagination.

Handbags, shoes, designer accessories, beauty products use to be dominate the mind set of designer luxury brands. But now these brands are determined to break their niche consumer segment and breathe in the open air, inviting consumers’ from all the industries.
On the move to delve into the unexplored but not prohibited territory, the brands aim at making collaborations outside their industry.
Companies such as Versace, Ferragamo, and Prada have high aims to make venture into different business sectors such as transportation and technology. Taking fashion industry as their back-bone, these cos are all geared up to generate sales and profits from all the segments and thereby bolstering the brand’s identity.
This fusion is illustrated in a deal Versace just inked with Italian group Agusta Westland to join forces on designing helicopters, an entry into the luxury transportation sector.
Ferragamo signed a lucrative two-year deal with revered automaker Maserati to design accessories inspired by the auto giant. This collaboration will create five unisex made-to-order leather pieces that include a suitcase, a weekend bag, a cosmetics case, a garment bag, and a shoe holder.
Prada, another designer brand would not like to a back seat when its competitors are breaking their boundaries. Prada is now dabbling in the world of technology. With the help of LG Electronics, Prada’s newest venture is a signature mobile phone, released in Europe early this year.
