Try troxler’s toxic

By admin | January 31, 2007

Poster by troxler at Jazz Festival Willisau

Nearly forty years ago, Niklaus Troxler, a graphic designer and jazz fanatic invited a jazz group to play in Willisau, the small Swiss farming town which he considers as his hometown.  Presently, Troxler enjoys the reputation of a designer to watch in Willisau. Today, his work is exhibited, published, and collected all over the world. Jazz Festival Willisau, which has hosted Keith Jarrett, Lester Bowie, Dewey Redman, McCoy Tyner, and Kronos Quartet, among many others, is about to celebrate its 37th year. Designed by Niklaus Troxler, the posters displays the passion of a single man who serves at once as designer and client.

Many young designers dream of a space and time when they can set their own agenda and create without boundaries. Troxler proves that it can be done. So you call can step into Lincoln Center on March 10 and pinch yourself to feel the reality. Lincoln Center will host an exhibition and presentation by Troxler himself, followed by a concert featuring pianist Cecil Taylor, saxophonist John Zorn, and trumpeter Dave Douglas.

Manoush

Young French label Manoush has a diverse vintage style that is both sophisticated and cool. The brand’s name comes from the French word for gypsy, so it follows that these gorgeous pieces have a quirky and bohemian edge. Inspired by the eternally youthful spirit of Jane Birkin and the bohemian style of Vanessa Paradis, Manoush has come out with her pretty printed dresses, ruffle-front blouses and irresistibly cute cropped jackets.

Yoox Cover

The 2006 Yoox cover is worth noticing as the different shades displayed for each month depicts the changing moods of an individual. It could be a clear answer to the early morning question asked in front of mirror viz. what shall I carry today? Water or fire? Since men and women enjoy the luxury of choice and this luxury can be fully enjoyed if yoox provides them with the color of the month and style that will be ruling beforehand so that their tensions are sidelined. The picture above belongs to yoox February 2006.

For the first time live fashion show on Internet

Armani

On last Wednesday Giorgio Armani gave a new definition to Paris couture by expanding its limited parameters, thereby displaying his elite and exclusive collection in Paris and broadcasting it live on web. Now the haute couture will not be restricted to the wealthy clientele only.
“Now through the democracy of the Internet, we can provide a front-row seat for everyone,” said 72-year-old Italian.

It can be seen as another feather in the chain of latest publicity coup for Armani. This includes the fashion show and concert held in September that drew the attention of stars like Bono, Leonardo DiCaprio and Beyonce Knowles. In sharp contrast to it, Armani’s latest broadcasted show though earned less than 500 people worldwide, images are worth generating sales.

And it becomes an obligation to buy a home product if Feng Shui factor is attached to it. Yes, this is what the designers today are engrossed in. Just imagine a bed being designed keeping in mind the Feng Shui impact. Mauro Bertame, a famous Italian designer has added life your imagination through its Mantra canopy bed.

This Asian inspired bed is a matchless blend of chic tradition and contemporary design. The base of the bed is very low (Feng Shui recommendation); and the canopy has soft round contours providing a warm embrace. The bed is available in wenge and teak to fit a 160 x 200cm mattress or in wenge to fit a 200 x 200cm mattress. Mattress not included.
